So much has happened this year and I feel as though I owe a huge update of photos, but many of my photos are on my work computer and I am at home my home computer for our first SNOW DAY (or cold day) of 2015! Kids aren't the only ones who appreciate snow days! It also gives us teachers time to catch up on all that we've fallen behind on. I am also preparing to brave the cold today for my first day of classes this semester at U of M Dearborn. College and teaching at the same time is challenging, but it's 110% for the better in the long run!
Yesterday, January 7th, we had the Beneficial Bugs crew from the Leslie Nature Center come in and do a demonstration on the bug life cycle and why they're important to us. This was really fun because we will be studying these life cycles this spring! Students also had the chance to view and touch a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach. I was not participating in touching it! They enjoyed the experience and I feel as though it's opening up the chance to bring other animals or wildlife experiences to our classroom in the future! (Fingers crossed of course!) I made sure to take lots of pictures yesterday and also have a few classroom pictures to add - this may have something to do with getting a new camera! My students seem to love having their picture taken and they are so adorable that it's all a lot of fun! Also, these kids pants look so dirty in these pictures! We had just come back from gym and because gym is used for entry/dismissal all of their pants are salty from the floor! Downsides of winter!
