2nd Graders Get Noticed!

I can't believe that I forgot to post this!  Some of my girls, especially NaKayla and Azzure', were big on singing and dancing during free time.  There were SO MANY TIMES when they were singing TLC songs.  Now of course, that makes me feel a little older than I am, because I remember singing those same songs when I was in middle school.  I posted about it on my personal twitter and Chilli, from TLC, actually responded!

SUMMER! SUMMER! SUMMER!

Can you believe we've been on summer break for almost a week!?!?  I know I can't believe it!  I took some time after the school year ended to think about how I wanted to write this.  All I can say is THANK YOU!  All of you grew SO MUCH during this school year and I am so proud of every single one of you.  ALL of you moved up, no one stayed the same, and no one went down.  We moved up and we did that together.  Don't forget me when you're a cool third grader with a locker!

This was my first year teaching at DAAS and all of you made it such a wonderful first year experience.  I am so lucky to have had students that were filled with so much love in their hearts.  Don't ever, ever, ever lose that.  It is with kindness, dedication, and love that you will find the success you dream of for yourself.

I know that ALL of you will be reading and working hard this summer.  Some of you are even in summer school - extra high fives to my summer school kids!  That's amazing and I am so proud of you guys for wanting to be the BEST third grader you can be this fall. Until I see you in September, you can always leave a comment on the blog or email me at csheets@daask12.com You know I'd love to hear from all of you!  I miss you guys already!

I know that Miss Kyra asked before we were out of school if I was going to post more pictures.  Here they are kids!  All of the end of the year pictures that I have.

We LOVED skip counting videos in our classroom!
You can watch them at home on YouTube, too.
There are TONS of videos, more than just skip counting.
My niece Kloie even came to visit our classroom (and bring us cookies) as a way of saying THANK YOU to all the second graders who brought in spare change and helped us, as a school, donate over $500 to the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan!  She was so excite to be in our classroom and I know you all loved her, too!  It made her feel like a celebrity for the day!

Not many kids came for the last day of school, but those who did, had a ton of fun playing and cleaning up our room for summer school.  We even had time to take some silly photos together!
